Data and Reports

Per Government Code Section 65940.1(a)(3)(A), cities are required to post the total amount of impact fees and exactions associated with a development project to increase transparency of fee information. Every six months the City posts a summary of fees collected by project address.

Note, under this law, the City is not responsible for the accuracy of the information received or posted and may chose to post the information prior to issuing a final certificate of occupancy or conducting a final inspection on a listed project.

California Government Code Section 66006(b)(1)(A-H) requires cities, within 180 days after the last day of each fiscal year, to make available to the public certain information for the fiscal year. Additionally, Government Code Section 66001(d)(1) requires cities to make findings with respect to fees and investment earnings remaining unexpended, whether committed or uncommitted, for the fifth year following receipt of the first fee deposited and every five years thereafter. 

The City elects to report this information annually, after the initial report, for increased transparency and ease of city administration.

The City manages a portfolio of public improvement projects, referred to as Capital Improvement Projects (CIP), that include new and upgrades to existing public infrastructure, new public parks and buildings, and other improvements on city-owned land and in the public right-of-way for the benefit of the community. 

The City Council adopts an annual CIP program, which identifies all city projects underway or planned and is available online here.

The Community Development Department - Planning Division provides regular updates on current private development applications and City-led policy planning efforts and their current status in the City review and approval process. This information is updated every two months and is available online here.

The City hired Matrix Consulting Group, Inc. to undertake an analysis of the development review process in Mountain View across all City Departments.
