Effective August 9, 2025

Planning fees are cumulatively calculated based on the required permit application(s) for a proposed project. Fee payment must be provided in full at initial application submittal. Large or complex permit applications may be subject to an hourly rate of staff time for the duration of the project.  

Fee Payment Methods

Fee payment may be made in-person, online, or by mail using any of the following methods:

  • In-person at the Finance Department counter, Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm on the second floor of City Hall.  
  • Hardcopy check made payable to the "City of Mountain View".
  • Credit card (VISA or MasterCard only), e-check or Paypal online with a convenience fee if less than $25,000.

Technology Fee

The City applies a 5% technology fee on the total permit cost for each planning permit application. The fee is collected at time of initial application submission.

For all new CUP applications or modifications to an existing CUP.
