All projects containing new construction, conversion, or a residential addition of five hundred (500) square feet or more will be assessed with School Impact Fees per the Government Code Title 7. Division 1. Chapter 4.9 Section 65995.

Construction projects meeting the square footage criteria will be required to visit one of the Elementary/Middle School District offices and the High School District office to pay the required School Impact fees.

City staff from the Building Division will provide the required forms to pay the School Impact fees when a project has been approved and is ready for permit issuance. These fees are not collected nor calculated by the City. Payment is to the associated School District directly and proof of payment (i.e. a receipt) is required prior to the City issuing a building permit.
